The Prototype Center and The Manufacturing Incubator Open at Tech Valley Center of Gravity in Troy

The Tech Valley Center of Gravity (TVCG) in Troy recently had a grand opening for the Prototyping Center and The Manufacturing Incubator. These two facilities propelled by IMC the center of downtown Troy are available to help Tech Valley inventors build businesses. The Manufacturing Incubator is New York State’s newest 16V incubator supported by NYSTAR. It provides coaching and risk mitigation.

TVCG is a community of makers, innovators and entrepreneurs to initiate creative collisions resulting in economic and personal growth. It has been creating a flexible, well-equipped facility with the tools and space to inspire collaboration and creative confidence; nurture an inclusive culture to enhance innovation among our diverse community of members; enrich the next generation of makers, innovators and entrepreneurs with STEAM programming; and develop and model the role of a non-profit makerspace in supporting its local community. It is a 501(c)(3) charitable membership organization supported by members, donors and sponsors. Inside its facility you will find:

  •      ♦ 3D printing;
  •      ♦ laser cutting;
  •      ♦ fiber arts;
  •      ♦ enamel and glass kilns;

  •      ♦ wood shop;
  •      ♦ welding shop; and
  •      ♦ metal shop.

Tech Valley Center of Gravity is also home to the ThinQubator, one of the world’s first fully-designated and outfitted children’s makerspaces.
