Anthony Collins, the 16th president of Clarkson University, will speak at the CAN’T MISS BizLab-Clarkson Lunchtime Entrepreneurship Series on Thursday, April 18.
Dr. Collins is a regional and national advocate for higher education – industrial partnerships that couple research discovery and engineering innovation with enterprise for commercialization and economic development with a focus on advancing sustainable energy solutions and environmental technology innovation.
He grew up just outside of Melbourne, Australia. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. After receiving his Ph.D. in 1982, he began his career at Clarkson as an assistant professor, rising to the rank of professor and assuming increased levels of administrative responsbilty.
Clarkson University attracts more than 4,300 “enterprising, high-ability scholars from diverse scholars from diverse backgrounds.” The school notes that of its 42,000 alumni, one in five are CEOs, senior executives or owners. Clarkson is also home to the Peyton Hall Incubator.
Tickets to hear Collins speak are $10 for the general public. Attendees will have time to network, eat a great lunch and hear an amazing speaker and be out the door in an hour!
